What Choice Do I Have?

what choice

What choice do we have? The decisions we make today are the foundation for what transpires in our lives tomorrow. Every action of the present has direct bearing on the future, and what we do each day sets the stage for the experiences of the next. In this age of self-gratification, very few think about their future. They are convinced that there are no consequences for their actions, and if there are, someone or something will bail them out. Looking to relatives, friends, and the government as their source, they ignore the fundamental principles ot happy and successful living.

The pleasure of the moment is the opiate of existence in many lives. As long as it feels good right now, the results don’t really matter. A life of addiction, unwanted children, and poverty await the irresponsible, but society urges on the masses to continue in lifestyles destructive both personally and professionally. Liberal progressives tout the freedom to do “what you want to do”. but have no solutions for the moral wreckage and individual torment their policies foist upon society. The Bible provides the definitive statement about the current condition of many in our society: “Some people think they are doing right, but in the end it leads to death. (Proverbs 14:12)

God Shows No Favortism.

There are those who are convinced that men are not equal in the eyes of God, and that He selects winners and losers in life through a celestial lottery. Some believe they cannot succeed because they are “underprivileged” This allows those who reap a bitter harvest from poor and ill-conceived choices an excuse. They declare themselves losers in life because of the circumstances of their birth, race, religion, or sexual preference. The government must step in and help they say, because “we have been cheated in life”, when in fact it is not life that has done them wrong, but their own choices. As Peter observed “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.”(Acts 10:34)

Since God shows no favoritism, men are denied the excuse of their circumstances for the lives that they create. Life is all about the choices each person makes, nothing more, nothing less. We are each empowered to choose, and the GOOD NEWS is this: we CAN choose lives of peace, health, prosperity and blessing. God tells us in Deuteronomy 30:19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

There is But One Solution.

The most important choice that can be made today is one that will secure eternal life and break the power of death and destruction. There is but one solution to the poor choices that many make. His Name is Jesus, and He helps us to break free of the past and embrace a future of hope and blessing. He tells us “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

The Best Life Decision.

Choosing Jesus is the best life decision anyone can make. Choosing a relationship with Him fulfills God’s command to choose life, and helps us all to make proper decisions for our future. Jesus promises life to all who call upon His Name. He told His disciples “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

God has provided a way for every man and woman to choose life today and receive blessings tomorrow. Making the right decisions today will assure an amazing future. The choice is up to you: Choose Jesus, choose life, and eliminate excuses for failure. It’s time to enjoy life and living once again!
