GOD IS LOVE

God-Is-Love

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) (Eph 2:4-5) When we experience the storms of life, nothing is more comforting than knowing that God loves us. His love for us is what compelled Him to send Jesus, and motivated Jesus to offer His life for our sins. The Bible tells us God is Love, but what does that really mean?

From a human perspective, we experience love as an emotion. We fall in love, we fall out of love. We love our dogs, we love our husbands or wives, and we love God. The emotional connection we feel with people and things is what we call love, but is it the God kind of love? God’s love for us is not based on how he feels, but on the decision He made to be committed to us. The love of God IS commitment. I’m glad that God’s love for me is not based upon how He feels about me. I’m glad He’s not “in love” or “out of love” with me based on my actions. I know He loves me and is committed to me regardless of my actions, good or bad. That doesn’t give me the right to act badly, but rather the conviction that God loves me and wants the best for me even when I mess up!

EXPERIENCE HIS PRESENCE

God loves you in exactly the same way. He sent Jesus to the cross to bear the penalty for your sins so that you could have a relationship with Him. He will always love you, even when you do not act lovingly toward Him. God always wants the best for you, and tells you in 1 Cor, 13:7 “Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” Isn’t it wonderful to know that He will never give up on you?

We will meet Friday night at 7:00 PM at the church for our monthly Prayer and Worship service. We have been experiencing the presence of God and His power at every prayer service. Prayer continues at 9:30 AM on Sunday, followed by our service at 10:00 AM. Even more prayer follows at 5:00 pm. Our congregation has been abuzz with miracle reports from our members. Please share your testimonies with us, so that we can rejoice with you. See you soon!
